Common materials and application scope of hard seal valves

Posted by Bundor valve
As an important sealing technology, hard seal is widely used in various industrial valves and equipment. Its main feature is the use of hard materials for sealing to achieve higher pressure resistance, temperature resistance and wear resistance. There are mainly the following types of hard sealing materials:

Stainless steel: Stainless steel hard sealing materials are widely used in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other industries due to their strong corrosion resistance and excellent mechanical properties. Suitable for various corrosive media and high temperature and high pressure environments.

Carbon steel: Carbon steel hard sealing materials have high strength and wear resistance. They are mainly used in water treatment, building water supply and drainage and other fields, and are suitable for medium and low pressure and temperature ranges.

Alloy steel: Such as chromium-molybdenum alloy steel, nickel alloy steel, etc., can maintain good performance under extremely high temperature and high pressure conditions, and are suitable for extreme working conditions such as petroleum refining and nuclear industry.

The scope of application of hard sealing materials mainly depends on their mechanical properties, chemical stability and thermal stability. When selecting hard sealing materials, engineers need to comprehensively consider the corrosion resistance, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and compatibility with the medium of the material to ensure the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
