What are the valves used in steam pipes?

Posted by Bundor valve
In modern industrial production, steam is one of the important sources of power, and the safe and stable operation of its transmission pipeline is crucial. So, what valves are generally used in steam pipelines? How should these valves be selected and applied?
First of all, gate valves and stop valves are the most common in steam pipelines. Their main function is to cut off or connect the steam medium in the pipeline. Among them, the friction of the sealing surface of the gate valve is small during the opening and closing process, which is suitable for frequent operation; while the stop valve has a simple structure, but the flow resistance is large, which is more suitable for small-caliber or infrequent operation occasions.

Secondly, the safety valve is indispensable in the steam pipeline. When the pressure in the pipeline exceeds the set value, the safety valve will automatically open to release excess steam and protect the pipeline and equipment from damage. The selection of the safety valve needs to be accurately matched according to parameters such as steam pressure, temperature and discharge volume to ensure that it can play a role at critical moments.

In addition, the steam trap is also an important part of the steam pipeline system. It can automatically discharge condensate in the pipeline and prevent steam leakage, improve steam utilization efficiency and reduce energy consumption.

When selecting steam pipeline valves, in addition to considering the valve type, you also need to pay attention to factors such as the valve material temperature and corrosion resistance, structural design, and sealing performance. In short, only by rationally selecting and configuring various valves and performing standardized operation and maintenance can the advantages of steam as a power source be truly brought into play and safeguard industrial production.
