Advantages of soft seal butterfly valve

Soft seal butterfly valve is one of the common types of butterfly valve. It is a valve with simple structure and easy operation. It is mainly composed of valve body, stem, disc and sealing ring. The inside of the valve body is a cylinder with a built-in disc. There are two ways to seal the soft seal butterfly valve. One is that the seal pair composed of non-metallic soft material and non-metallic soft material. The other is that the sealing pair composed of metal hard material and non-metal soft material.
The most commonly used sealing ring and seat materials of soft sealing butterfly valve are EPDM, NBR and PTFE. The soft sealing butterfly valve with EPDM as the valve seat material usually works under the working condition of pressure less than 2.5MPa and temperature of - 50 ~ 80 ℃. The applicable media include salt, acid, metal coating solution, water, wet chlorine, etc. The soft seal butterfly valve with NBR as the valve seat material usually works under the working condition of pressure less than 2.5MPa and temperature of - 10 ~ 90 ℃, and the applicable media are water, oil, waste liquid, etc. The soft sealing butterfly valve with PTFE as its seat material is used in the environment with pressure less than or equal to 1.6Mpa and temperature of - 196 ~ 200 ℃. The applicable media include heat-resistant, cold resistant, general chemicals and solvents as well as most liquids.
The advantage of soft sealing butterfly valve is that it has good sealing performance and can achieve zero leakage. The disadvantage is that it is not resistant to high temperature and high pressure, and the sealing surface is easy to be eroded by the flowing medium, so its service life is short. The features of soft seal butterfly valve are as follows:
1. The valve body is small and light, it is convenient to install, remove and repair, and it can be installed at any position of the pipeline.
2. The valve structure is simple and very compact, the operating torque is small, and the opening and closing action can be completed by rotating 90 degrees.
3. It has good flow regulation performance.
4. The seal can be replaced with good sealing performance and can achieve two-way sealing.
6. According to the user's requirements, the disc can be sprayed with coating, such as nylon rubber or PTFE.
7. It can be designed as flange connection and clamp connection according to the requirements.
8. According to the working condition, the soft seal butterfly valve can be driven by manual, electric or pneumatic means.
