The ball driven by the stem and around the axis of the stem to do rotating movement of the valve,known as the ball valve.So what are the classification of ball valves? What are the characteristics of ball valves? Do you know these?
The classification of ball valve
According to the structure,the ball valve can be divided into float ball valve and fixed ball valve.
Float ball valve can be divided into straight and three-way ball valve.The three-way ball valve can be subdivided into Y type,L type,T type three types.
Fixed ball valve can be divided into straight ball valve and four-way ball valve.
The characteristics of ball valve
Ball valve is a kind of valve developed on the basis of plug valve,which has some advantages of plug valve.
1.Small and medium diameter ball valve has the advantages of simple structure,small size and light weight.
2.Fluid resistance is small,and in all kinds of valves,ball valve’s fluid resistance is the least. This is because the cross-sectional area of the valve body channel,the ball valve channel and the connecting pipe is equal and connected in a straight line when fully open.
3.Opening and closing is fast,convenient,medium flow direction is not restricted.
4.Opening and closing torque is smaller than the plug valve,this is because the ball valve sealing surface contact area is small,it takes less effort to open and close than a plug valve.
5.The sealing performance is good,because the material of ball valve sealing ring is mostly plastic,and the coefficient of friction is small.When the ball valve is fully opened,the sealing surface will not be eroded by the medium.
The classification of ball valve
